Title: Credit Risk Validation Senior Quantitative Analyst Location: GA-Atlanta-SunTrust Plaza Job Number: 238035 This position will be in the credit risk model validation team at SunTrust. It is one of the senior quantitative roles in this group. It is responsible for validation work of all credit risk and other statistical models at SunTrust Bank, with validation responsibilities extending from the development process, to the model itself, to model usage. This person will be expected to work independently on complex technical projects, and for assisting junior teammates in designing work plans as well as overseeing their work. They will be expected to develop strong relationships with senior quantitative members of model development teams, and to assist in the design of long-run model validation programs with specific model development areas of the bank.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Masters or PhD. in a relevant field such as Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics, or Finance (Financial Engineering, Finance Theory, or Computational Finance) or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience. Strong quantitative, finance, and statistical background including extensive background in use of software to support quantitative analysis. Demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines and processes related to the position, including understanding of quantitative modeling requirements broadly for risk management, financial reporting, and valuation models used in STI business areas and functions.
