The Group Benefits Technology organization is looking for a Senior Business Consultant to provide support to the strategy delivery functions for the purpose of advancing the ongoing technology strategy vision and implementation. Our ideal candidate will partner with the business to understand the overarching vision and strategy, advise and propose solutions, then facilitate and consult on the implementation and delivery phases in collaboration with the broader IT organization.
Responsibilities include: * Strategic and tactical alignment * Perform strategic analysis * Act as IT Lead on capability development task forces * Develop business cases/ presentations for new business efforts and initiatives * Assist with analysis and development of short and long-term business plans and business reviews * Communications & Business Consulting- Provide consulting services to the business segment as the initial point of contact for IT during idea development and planning activities. Identify critical business needs at both the macro and detail levels. Provides thought leadership with forward looking perspective on possible future opportunities. * Technology and Business Strategy- Has a significant understanding of business opportunities and performance drivers as well as long-term business unit expectations and goals. Decomposes business strategies and needs into the IT capabilities required to execute them, works collaboratively with Enterprise Architects to develop strategy, executable roadmaps and near term tactics. * Leads transition of an idea to development to an initiative defined scope. Identify critical business needs at both the macro and detail levels. Works closely with Business Analysts throughout project lifecycle to ensure that scope and solution align with business needs & objectives and IT portfolio in near and long term. * Identify opportunities to delivery solution components that can be executed in an incremental delivery or that allow speed to market, with real return to the business. * Facilitates capability prioritization activities through examination of program or project opportunity costs, benefits, duration and prerequisites. Presents cohesive models, capability blueprints and roadmaps to executives and stakeholders in order to secure consensus on proposed capabilities and business/technology implications. * Manages processes and tools to build and maintain the capability repository * Evaluate growth opportunities through analysis of market potential, customer needs, and competitive landscape; prepare and present conclusions and recommendations to senior managementReview and maintain artifacts such as Operational Business Architecture views. * Knowledge of theGroup Benefits industry, and related technologies asignificantplus * Technical background and/or experience * Bachelors Degree preferred * Superior analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Ability to analyze and draw business implications from market research, financial, and other data sources * Ability to drives consensus for a desired future state that meets the business problem and enterprise objectives * Strong business acumen; Experience in management consulting or corporate strategy preferred * Demonstrated ability to uncover needs that business partners and end users would not be able to articulate on their own * Proven ability to guide solutions options and business partner decision making to minimize the amount of project investment divergence from target architecture * Capacity to work collaboratively as well as independently with cross-functional teams with minimal direct supervision; Must be a self starter and take initiative without direct instruction * Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated leadership * Exhibited ability to scope, plan, and execute project-based research and analysis * Capacity to take feedback from a variety of people and distill from it the key issues and recommendations * Demonstrated discretion and independent judgment in handling of confidential information and matters of significance * Experience in vendor selection, RFP,SLA, etc.
