More information about this job: General Responsibilities: The Mgr, Partner Data Management will support the Global Services and Operations (GSO) organization’s business ownership accountability for MGI partner data and systems. This role is thereby responsible for the development and execution of data and system management practices for partner data. This includes supporting the development of data governance principles, practices and standards while acting as the lead data steward within MoneyGram for partner data. This position will also be responsible for obtaining partner data by developing queries necessary to respond to requests from stakeholders both inside and outside of GSO. A specific focus on data quality will be required and will include analyzing data to define, monitor and improve data quality concerns. This role will be accountable for all metadata management activities for partner data including building business glossaries and collaborating with business stakeholders across the global organization to drive clear and consistent definitions for the partner information MoneyGram collects. The Mgr. Partner Data Management will act as the business owner for several of MoneyGram’s partner and point of sale systems and will liaise with colleagues in the IT functions to drive toward a single source of truth for the data GSO is accountable for. Additional responsibilities will include collaborating with resources involved in building data warehousing and business intelligence capabilities within MoneyGram. The position will also be involved in defining information security and privacy requirements for partner data. This person also manages a team of professionals including Data Management Analysts and is expected to have a highly significant impact on Partner Data Management capabilities, efficiency and service levels. * Data Analytics and Quality Management:Act as the lead subject matter expert and decision maker for partner data by developing and maintaining advanced knowledge of MGI’s partner data model. Direct, support and perform the creation of queries and extracts of partner data to create information and reports required by business stakeholders for planning and decision-making. Understand data input and output processes and collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to define monitor and improve data accuracy and validity. * Data Governance and Stewardship:Lead and support the development and implementation of data governance principles, practices and standards. Act as the ‘chief’ data steward within MoneyGram for partner data by coordinating meetings and other activities to promote data governance principles, practices and standards among all other partner data stewards within MoneyGram. * Master and Reference Data Management:Act as the business owner and subject matter expert for several of MoneyGram’s partner and point of sale systems (Oracle Customers On-line, Profile Editor, Pricing, etc.). Liaise with colleagues in the IT functions to design and define new system requirements that drive toward simplicity and a single source of truth for partner data. * Metadata Management:Lead and support business stakeholders in understanding partner data (hierarchies, classifications and other key data categories) by building and maintaining data definitions for partner data. Create training content and perform training where required. Collaborate with global business stakeholders to drive clear and consistent definitions for existing and new partner information MoneyGram collects. * Supervision and coaching of staff: Serve as role model of corporate values. Provide feedback and development opportunities to staff as well as prioritization and escalation support. Determine staff goals and objectives; ensure that staff have appropriate support and resources to achieve them. * Security and Privacy:Responsible to define and support information security and privacy requirements for partner data. Skills and Experience Required: Education:BA/BS or equivalent related experience (required). Masters degree in business or related information technology competency (preferred). Years of Experience:10+ years of increasing responsibility as Business Analyst or related experience with particular focus on partner data management functions. * 5-7 years of experience in Supervision with increasing responsibilities * Previous experience implementing Oracle or other EBusiness Suite; ability to apply experience and best practices with Oracle or other ERP EBusiness Suite into optimal business solutions (preferred) * In depth working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Regulations, USA Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control and global anti-money laundering regulations (Preferred) * Advanced technical and PC skills including SQL plus, PL/SQL, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Visio and Project * Strong leadership skills, including a track record of leading data management or application development projects, and translating broad requirements into specific objectives, requirements and action plans * Demonstrated ability to drive execution, integrating efforts across business functions * Demonstrated ability to break down and analyze multi-dimensional business and technical issues. Experience in integrating information from a variety of resources, formats and systems * Proven history of employing sound business judgement, creativity and innovation in problem solving and advanced decision-making skills * Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and on-going dialogue with colleagues at all levels and to understand and support MoneyGram’s business strategies * Proven change agent. Track record of championing new initiatives within and beyond the scope of own job, stimulating others to make changes and improvements * Strong work ethic and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done; ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
