Requisition Number: 7511 Job Title: Residential/Consumer Portfolio Reviewer Area of Interest: Risk Management Requirements: Minimum Qualifications * Business related Bachelor's degree * Minimum of 5-10 years experience in large bank retail and consumer credit to include testing for compliance to policy, legal and regulatory requirements. * Demonstrated knowledge of consumer credit underwriting, monitoring, loan documentation, collateral and policies and procedures * Experience with automated credit decisioning * Knowledge and understanding of OCC Bulletin 2000-20 (Retail Classification), and 2005-22 (Home Equity Lending). * Strong analytical skills and reasoning ability * High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others * Strong project management skills * Strong oral and written communication skills * Highly motivated and self-directed * Advanced knowledge of PC applications including extensive knowledge of Excel and the suite of MS Office programs Job Description: Overview: The position will assess, monitor and report on the various retail and consumer portfolios regarding their adherence to bank policies, procedures, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Work with the Senior Loan Review Manager to ensure residential/consumer loan origination and collection functions are monitoring compliance with underwriting standards and regulatory guidelines, and remediating gaps or findings where warranted. * Collaborate with the Retail Credit Manager to ensure that the appropriate reports (analytics) are created to assist in the testing of compliance with established policies and procedures along with legal and regulatory requirements. * With the assistance of the Senior Loan Review Manager and in conjunction with Internal Audit, develop a plan to ensure that a comprehensive review of the full cycle of a retail loan (origination, account management or servicing, portfolio reporting, collections and collateral valuation processes) is accomplished. * Establish an annual review schedule and implement the plan. * Review and analyze the global consumer credit portfolio to ensure portfolio quality is strong while considering organizational risk / reward tolerance. * Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of underwriting standards, including the utilization of credit scoring and automated loan application and servicing platforms. * Evaluate and determine whether existing procedures for extending credit and the monitoring and collection of accounts are in compliance with written policies and procedure manuals. * Identify emerging credit quality problems, including deteriorating credits, credits with deficient collateral positions as well as any macro trends that could stress the overall portfolio. Review underwriting standards to determine if adjustments are necessary and make that recommendation. * Prepare formal reports that summarize key observations and findings leading to recommendations to improve operational efficiencies and credit management. * Develop cohesive working relationships with Retail Credit Manager as well as other functional departments (i.e. Internal Audit).
