The Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK-BA) department within the division of Development Sciences is searching for a PKPD Project Representative to ensure project governance within Neuroscience is in line with the DMPK-BA and PKPD best practice recommendations. This position will report into the Global Director of Translational PK/PD group. Development Sciences supports development from early Discovery to Phase IV within several therapeutic areas (Oncology, Neuroscience (CNS and Pain), Antivirals and Immunology).
The role will include collaborating with Therapeutic Area Leadership in Discovery Neuroscience, DMPK-BA, Preclinical Safety (PCS), Pharmaceutics, Biomarker groups, clinical PK/PD group and others. This individual will support Neuroscience programs from early LO up to IND filing by providing strategic leadership at the Lake Co, IL headquarters site and globally in identifying and implementing state of the art DMPK data acquisition, PK and PK/PD modeling, reporting, and archiving. This individual will also serve as the DMPK-BA representative on the Neuroscience Discovery project teams. In this function the individual will have 2 direct reports and in addition be supported by multi-disciplinary experts within Development Sciences.
Education
The qualified candidate will have a PhD degree in the area of Pharmaceutic, Biology or related discipline, with a strong pharmacological background in Neuroscience and strong understanding of Drug Development; has proven scientific accomplishment in the Pharmaceutical industry (Drug Development environment) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Requirements
. Shown proven accomplishments in Pharmaceutical industry as a DMPK rep for 3 years
. Knowledgeable in drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, Neuroscience pharmacology, Neuroscience Disease (eg Alzheimer, Schizophrenia, Pain) and Biomarker models
. Proficient in the interpretation of DMPK-BA data and Neuroscience Efficacy models to be able to address project-specific DMPK and PK/PD issues and communicate clear recommendations.
. Understands the implications of preclinical (DMPK, PK/PD, toxicology, cardiovascular, pharmaceutics) and clinical data within the field of Neuroscience to enable successful and effective transition of projects from early Discovery into Late Development.
. Experience in preparing regulatory submissions, including INDs and responding to regulatory questions related to DMPK-BA, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
