ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
:
As a Lead Mobile Application and Platform Research Engineer, you will research and develop mobile/wireless solutions that will increase the productivity of
various GE business units and customers. You will also be innovating new wireless solutions using mobile technologies that will significantly enhance the
businesses' product and service offerings.
As a Lead Mobile Application and Platform Research Engineer, you will work in a multidisciplinary team to:
*
Lead technical knowledge to innovate, invent, develop, and implement in the areas of Fixed and Mobile Wireless solutions/applications/services
*
Be responsible for executing assignments in focused technical area; work on pre-defined activities with guidance
*
Utilize background in Wireless networks to execute and deliver on projects
*
Grow and contribute to new research projects through close interactions with the GE business units and their customers
*
Effectively communicate results by writing papers and giving presentations of your approaches, results achieved, and value obtained
*
Collaborate and work with fellow researchers to respond to customer needs in a timely manner
Qualifications/Requirements
*
Bachelors or Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, CSE, Electrical Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant
industrial experience
*
At least 5 years of mobile programming experience to deliver interactive multimodal (voice, touch, video, text) solutions using iOS, Android, RIM or
Microsoft native or MEAP environments
*
Advanced level (at least 3 years) skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Jquery, and any one of the Java/C++/Objective C
*
Advanced level (at least 3 years) experience to build highly scalable web back end platforms, related REST/SOA APIs leveraging mashups with third party
social APIs (e.g. Google, Twitter, Twillio, Yahoo, SFDC) to deliver mobile application solutions
*
Proven ability to master one or more front-end and back-end technologies by using them in real life projects
*
End2end lifecycle awareness of Mobile Applications, Mobile Platforms , APIs and related value chain
*

Additionally, we are also interested in Sr. researchers with proven skills and interest in creating solutions/prototypes to investigate research topics
spanning M2M, Mobile HCI, Mobile Computing, Mobile Infrastructure, and Mobile Information Visualization preferably in an industrial engineering domain
